Description

These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a delightful twist on traditional breakfast! With soft bread filled with cinnamon-sugar goodness, rolled up and cooked to golden perfection, they are a family-friendly treat perfect for busy mornings or indulgent brunches. The creamy filling and warm spices make this dish a showstopper that’s easy to make and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of soft white bread (crusts removed)
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for cooking)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin and spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side.
  • Roll up the bread tightly, securing the filling inside. Repeat for all slices.
  • In another small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  • Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
  • Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating it evenly, then place it in the skillet seam-side down. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning until golden brown. Repeat in batches, adding more butter as needed.
  • Once cooked, immediately roll the hot roll-ups in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  • Serve warm with syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit if desired.

Notes

  • To save time, you can prepare the cream cheese filling the night before.
  • For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread instead of white bread.
  • Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
