Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries

For the Blueberry Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, and egg. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Make the Filling: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll out the dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture and blueberries.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the longer side and cut into 12 even rolls.
  • Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 22-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Make the Glaze: Blend blueberries until smooth. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, blueberry puree, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Drizzle the blueberry glaze over the warm rolls and serve!

Notes

  • For extra gooey rolls, add a tablespoon of heavy cream over the rolls before baking.
  • Swap fresh blueberries for frozen ones (do not thaw to prevent excess moisture).
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
